CALIFORNIA HERE WE COME!

I found out yesterday that OutSpoken Young Minds (OSYM pronouced awesome) got invited to the California State Conference in Torrence. We will be going down in August with different families and teenagers to present our OSYM program, and the youth and parents will be sharing their stories. The youth have done an outstanding job her locally sharing their stories on depression, Bi-Polar, and PTSD as well as the parents. There is not a program like this that facilitates the community ( Bakersfield currently) mental health collabortive of schools (high schools and Jr. highs), public and private, mental health agencies & resources, the faith community, probation and law enforcement, to name a few. We partner to better serve the families with loved ones coping with mental health issues. I get to present my DVD that I put together on depression and I think that's pretty awesome! I will add pictures later ;o))

Academy Award Luncheon May 7, 2009

Went to the Mental Health Academy Awards Lucheon today to take pictures. We I got thier I found out I was a nominnee, what a surprise. I received The Above and Beyond Award, for outstanding contributions and achievements. I had alot of fun and a good lunch at Hodels.
